Casa Vibra

Casa Vibra was a true labor of love — and the project that perhaps best represents what Canopy Studio is at its core.

Originally acquired as an investment property, the home ultimately became something far more personal: the home and studio of Canopy Studio founder Alison Wilson and her husband Johnathan, owner of Requiem Builders. What began as a financial venture became the first of many collaborative projects between the two — a partnership that would prove to be as natural as the design itself.

The property arrived massively rundown and largely devoid of architectural character. The transformation began with a shared vision, sparked by a trip the couple took together to Oaxaca. Deeply inspired by the design, landscape, and material culture they encountered there, they returned with a collection of ideas that would go on to shape every corner of the project.

Outside, the landscape is a lush and layered envelopment of rich plantings, exotic cactus, and flowering trees — wild and considered in equal measure. A partially above-ground pool and spa grounds the garden, its form drawn from a sense of continuum and flow. Inside, the space was designed to live as both a creative studio and a place for entertaining and co-creating — open, warm, and full of intention.

The result is a radical transformation and a true reflection of what happens when Canopy Studio and Requiem Builders create together — a home that is deeply personal, visually alive, and unmistakably theirs.
